HISTORY

Penrite Pirelli CRF Honda Racing has a rich history that dates back to the early 1980s, when Mark Luksich was a Sydney-based local Honda MX racer sponsored by Ric Andrews Motorcycles at Hornsby.

After meeting aspiring national racer Glen Bell, the pair developed a close friendship that saw Mark assist Glen with sponsorship negotiations, which eventually lead Mark to form numerous Honda-sponsored race teams through the 1990s, with a rider roster that included Australian champions Glen Bell, Lee Hogan and Cameron Taylor, as well as numerous top-ten ranked competitors.

Through the 2000s Mark stepped back from team management to concentrate on the family automotive accessory import business, Brandlines Pty Ltd, while still maintaining roles with Motorcycling Australia's MX Commission and the annual Australian team effort at the Motocross of Nations.

In 2015, Mark returned to race team management, forming the CRF Honda Racing team with riders Joel Wightman (MX1) and Wilson Medcalf (MXD), and in the process rekindled many relationships with sponsors who had weighed in with their support of his Honda race teams decades earlier.

Now, five years in, and with escalated support from naming rights sponsors Penrite and Pirelli, CRF Honda Racing is a major contender for championship honours in the MX2 category with Kyle Webster and in MXD with Rhys Budd.
